Why might I want you to host my copy of Light Blue?
Hosting your copy of Light Blue means that you can access it from any of your computers (or iOS devices) that have an internet connection. This is especially useful if you ever want to access your data while you're out of the office (e.g. on a shoot, or in a client meeting).
A hosted copy of Light Blue can be accessed by more than one user - you just have to buy extra licences from us and use the copies of FileMaker Pro that comes with them on extra computers. This means that you and your team (which can be anything from you and your admin assistant to you and your team of photographers in the studio) can work on your live data at the same time, no matter where they're based.
If we're hosting your copy of Light Blue, we'll look after it for you too. We back up your data every night and will even keep your copy of Light Blue up to date - whenever we release an update to version 3, we'll schedule a convenient time to update your copy so that you know you've always got the latest version.
You'll also have access to a live calendar feed of your data, which you can subscribe to on your iOS device, or in iCal, Google Calendar, Outlook, or any other software that supports iCalendar feeds.
Why do you charge a monthly fee for hosting Light Blue?
Hosting your copy of Light Blue is an extra service that we offer on top of licensing the software itself. We think it's fantastically convenient to be able to access your data from anywhere and that knowing your business-critical data is being looked after properly, so we've decided to start offering it as an extra service for all of our users who will benefit from it.
Is there any reason why the hosted version of Light Blue might not be suitable for me?
Because you're connecting to your hosted copy of Light Blue over the internet, you need a decent internet connection to be able to use our hosting service. If you are often offline when you want to work with your copy of Light Blue, or only have a slow internet connection, the single-user version of Light Blue might be more suitable for you.
Can I try out the hosted version of Light Blue?
Indeed you can, and we require all of our users to test that it works well for them before signing up for our hosting service.

There is - you must commit to using our hosting service for at least six months. We require all of our users to test that it works well for them before signing up for our hosting service.
What version of FileMaker do I get with the hosted version?
The hosted version of Light Blue includes a full version of FileMaker Pro 11 for each user licence that you purchase. The only restriction from FileMaker is that this copy does not qualify for upgrade pricing to other FileMaker products.
